THREE MOST IMPORTANT FACTORS FOR A SUCCESSFUL LIFE

FACTORS FOR A SUCCESSFUL LIFE

The two most important days of your life, are the days you were born and the day you find out why. – Mark Twain

I will like to cover the following in this article, and when you are done, you will have the foundational principles that can make you, your business or any system or organization you are setting up successful.

They are:

👍The Universality of purpose

👍The necessity of Identity

👍The power of harnessed potential

What is purpose?

Purpose is reason why a product is created. It is about the problem that that product is supposed to solve.

Genesis 1:26-28, Jeremiah 1:5

Purpose is the reason why the manufacturer thought it necessary to create the product.

Lack of purpose breeds efforts in futility. Waste of time and resources.

NOT fulfilling purpose births unhappiness, pain, and regrets. It hinders procreation and limit generations. The tragedy is that it has a ripple effect.

There are two pains in life, the pain of discipline or the pain of regrets. At the end of your life, one of these pains will describe you.

In our society today, it is very easy to lose focus and engage in frivolities without knowing. Anything done outside the context of purpose is problematic. Hence, you need to consciously ask yourself the purpose question every now and then and ensure you are living purposefully and intentionally.

If you are living without purpose, you are dead. Don’t die now! - Miracle Banigo

Living a life of purpose is not longing for religious pursuit or spiritual calling. Everyone at every level in society is supposed to live a life of purpose. Abraham was a cattle-rarer, Isaac was a farmer, Nimrod was a hunter, Joseph was a politician [ but his purpose was to preserve the life and posterity of God’s people] If he didn’t get into politics, he wouldn’t have achieved that. David was a king [politician]

So, you don’t have to be a pastor before you figure that you are living a life of purpose.

Do I have a purpose?

To answer this question, just take a look at things around you. The phone you are using, the clothes you are wearing, the house you are living in, the air you are breathing etc. everything and everyone in this world have purpose. Therefore, you have a purpose too.

2 tests of purpose

1. Does it bring glory to God?

2. Does it add value and make the life of others better?

Universality of Purpose.

Everyone was created to bring glory to god. [Isaiah 43:7]

Everyone is on a mission to preach the gospel to every creature [Mark 16:15]

Everyone is supposed to dominate, become fruitful and multiply

How do I discover my purpose?

First you need to know that purpose is not a goal, it is not an ambition, it is not your intention nor is it a suggestion. Your purpose is God’s intention for creating you! Therefore, to discover your purpose, you need to find out the challenge or problem that God designed you to solve. Like Jeremiah, Joseph and Paul.

Your potential is buried in your purpose. To help you navigate the discovery of your purpose, I want you to ponder on categories and species.

Phones: Almost same but depending on the specification that you want, you choose from the lot.

You have a unique purpose for being, there is something specific that you alone in the whole of the world can offer. One of the things that kill vision-less young men is that they dwell on physical tangibility instead of the intangibility of their imagination. Understand that the world is controlled by forces that are not seen.

So 2 key ways i will suggest:

1. Through divine revelation.

2. Through work: You find and fulfill your purpose in the place of work.

Why is discovering purpose important?

Purpose is time-bound. And you fulfill your purpose at different levels. Just like success, success is in phases. What will be considered successful for a young lad in secondary school will be writing the final exams and passing all papers in flying colors. To a university student will be graduating with honors or top of the class.

Other are connected to your purpose. If you don’t fulfill your purpose, you hinder others from fulfilling that. That is why it’s so painful to live in these times outside of purpose.

Identity

Meriam-webster describe identity as a distinguishing character or personality of an individual.

Developmental psychologist Erik Erikson believes that the formation of identity was one of the most important parts of a person's life.

Erikson did not believe that the formation and growth of identity were just confined to adolescence. Instead, identity is something that shifts and grows throughout an individual’s life as he confronts new challenges and tackle different experiences.

Most people today experience identity crisis and I tell you even more and more millennial will have this challenge. But it is important that it is done intentionally than allowing change or disruption to introduce it to you.

Ask and answer the following questions by yourself:

What is my personal Identity?

You are created in the image of God. You have his godlike abilities

What am I passionate about?

What are my spiritual beliefs?

What are my values?

What is my role in society or purpose in life?

What problem was I born to solve?

What are my talents?

Who am I? You may as this question generally, or in regards to your relationships, age, and/or career

Potential

Is there a limit to what I can achieve?

You might have the above question in mind; well, when I talk about potential, I like to use the seed principle. Take a look an orange seed. As tiny as it is, it can produce an orange tree, it will not stop there it can produce a garden of orange trees.

There is no limit to what you can achieve aside the limits you place on yourself.

It is also important to strike a balance here. Your capacity is a function of your purpose. When you step outside your purpose, you start facing difficulty.  For instance, imagine a screw-driver saying, I can do all things and then wants to drive nail into a hard wood. But if it is a nut or a screw, why not.

The unlimited capacity that you have is directional to your purpose and assignment.

What can I possibly achieve with my life time?

This is where I want to bring you into. In Africa today, there are lots of problems and that is proof that most people in Africa is not living to their full potential and they are not fulfilling purpose. So, what problem can you solve? Problem solvers are in short supply in Africa today, and there is a place for anyone and everyone that choose to be one. and you can be one!

You can make a difference starting today. But change first of all begins begins internally. If you have followed this article from the beginning, you will realize that what we dealt with are internal matters. They are thoughts that will change your thinking, and perception. I believe that if I can change your thinking, therefore I can change your state and that will enable you to change your estate.

Our generation have a responsibility. We are running the final lap. What can you do for those around you? At this point I will like to remind you that, whatever you are doing that does not have an eternal value is cheating you.

Lastly, choose to change the narrative, choose to make a difference, and choose to impact the human race.
