MY APPARENT DISCOVERY ABOUT LIFE's GOAL Growing up I used to be inquisitive…full of dreams and somehow… goal driven. I remember taking sixth position in primary one (grade one) and did not like it at all. Then getting to primary two I wanted first position but ended up taking third and then second position- it seems like first position hated me and I was pleading to at least know how it feels like to be number one. Unfortunately, I didn’t take first position until JSS2 (High school) and surprisingly, I didn’t feel anything special. TACKLE THE THING I often hear young people say things like ‘Abeg this is not my thing’ (Nigerian Pidgin). Well that’s cool but what is your thing? What is that thing that your life represents? 7 THINGS I LEARNT FROM MY MENTOR In 2011, I met this very successful man, I mean in my assessment of him. And the weeks and months that followed he committed about 5 hours every other Saturday to teach young people the principles of success and that helped him get to where he is. At this point i would like to mention that; Success is a result of the combination of principles. No one singular standalone principle can make you successful. You have to learn the different principles that will take you to your envisaged future. Back to the story, those training that he organized help me to become who I am today and it’s still propelling me to make further progress.
